Gaza protest in SL – conflict resolution in virtual worlds?


virtual worlds like Second Life are places, where intercultural dialogue is happening every day. In the case of the response to Israel’s Gaza offensive, targeting Hamas installations in December 2008, SL residents engaged in heated discussions on the Middle East issue and many avatars were protesting the reported human rights violations by Israeli soldiers. Draxtor Despres attended lectures on peace efforts and interviewed researchers in the field of conflict resolution, even went out into the physical realm to find answers about how to engage in more fruitful debates that have real world impact.
