(PS2) Final Conflict – Torso Boss Strategy
Note: I am NOT a speedrunner, so my videos are not perfect. I’m uploading these as a way of showing people the shortcuts and glitches that I have seen online and can prove whether or not they work on the PS2 version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. They may work on other versions, they may not. I don’t know, so please don’t ask me about it.
Apologies about the video quality. I don’t have a means of recording my console gaming except for taping off of the television with the digital camera.
This isn’t my best demonstration, but it does show a reliable way to beat the torso boss in a timely manner. Just follow these steps and it should work:
1. Do not move from the edge. Use your shotgun to raise the boss’s rage meter up to full.
2. When he rushes, jump to either side with the adrenaline dodge.
3. He should have fallen off of the edge and you can shoot his hand. You won’t be able to make him fall yet, though.
4. Cross to the opposite side of the room (near the door) and raise his rage meter again, dodging when he rushes you.
5. You’ll most likely be aimed at his head, so switch to his hand. If you’re quick enough (and you can see that I wasn’t here), his hand will explode. Now you’re set up to make him fall off of the edge.
6. Cross to the opposite side of the room (near the edge) and raise his rage meter one more time, dodging and firing when he rushes you. He should fall off of the edge and grab with one hand.
7. Be quick now. Shoot his hand with your shotgun repeatedly. If you go through all seven shots (or however many you have loaded), DO NOT RELOAD. Simply switch to your Mini SMGs and continue firing. If you take the time to reload, he has an opportunity to pull himself up and you have to knock him to the edge again.
This should be all it takes to beat the boss quickly. Like I said, my video doesn’t show the optimum strategy, but it does have all of the parts for you to watch, analyze, and most likely improve upon. Good luck.
