Sure, we have two salesmen that are at each others throats all the time! As a result, they are always trying to out do each other. Their sales are off the charts! Which means more money in my pocket!

It depends if the conflict is of personal nature or business nature-if it is a conflict about business of course good things can come from it-conflict can generate new ideas and new ideas can help the business!!!Personal conflict should stay within your personal life.

It all depends on who the conflict is with. And by that, I mean, at what level in the company the person is. If they are higher than you…but not necessarily your boss…it may be ok. Additionally, conflict among coworkers that are at your same level or slightly above, can be good. It can cause competition and it can better the look of you, if you come out victorious. The only danger is that, losing can be detrimental to your rep in the company.

In my book Workplace Wars and How to End Them (AMACOM, 1994) I answer Yes to this question by quoting P.K. Wrigley, who said he loved hearing two of his executives agree completely with one another. “Then I know I can fire one of them.”
