When management deals with employees, it may face multiple cross-cultural situations in which employees with diverse cultural backgrounds are bargaining on behalf of themselves or others.

The cross-cultural differences may alone lead to conflicting situations.

When facing conflicting situations, people are generally confronted with the dilemma to fight or flight. Employees facing adversarial situations will choose to fight for survival with an either/or mindset – a win/lose mindset – causing conflicts to seriously escalate.
